As an appraiser, you are most likely applying for a job in a real estate firm, banks, mortgage facility, or housing finance. Your appraiser resume should show your ability to carry out the following roles:

Most firms looking for an appraiser will prefer to hire someone with plenty of experience to reduce training and orientation time and course. You, therefore, need to write a resume that highlights your work experience section to ensure it captures your recruiters’ attention. Also, ensure you write a resume whose format will be readily followed by the recruiter. The reverse chronological order is the format that carries all these attributes. This resume format is universally recognized and preferred by HR officers; writing your resume in this format will, therefore, ensure you impress your recruiters from the start. The chronological format is also easy on ATS systems.


An appraiser is expected to possess excellent organization skills, and your resume design portrays the first impression of your organizational ability. Ensure you apply for that job with a neat, well-structured, and appealing resume design. Your resume should also be formal, though formal does not necessarily mean bland. While designing your resume, you can apply a minimalist color to some columns to improve its appearance.

White space helps the resume appear neater, formal, and comfortable to read. Create a one-inch margin around your resume and minimizing additional formatting to eliminate excessive writing.

While typing up your details, avoid using oriental fonts and instead go for a formal resume font like Cambria, Calibri, Georgia, or Arial in sizes 11-13. Start each resume section with subheadings and use bulleted points rather than paragraphs to make it easier to skim through your document.

Work experience

Hiring managers use your work experience as a standard for what you will bring on board once you are hired. It shows the challenges and duties you have performed and overcome through the course of your career.  To make this section count, tailor the responsibilities and challenges to make them match the job description on your desired job. Also, include your previous jobs starting from the most previous one; write your job title, name, and location of the hiring firm, and period you spent working there.

Certificates & courses

You must also include all the state certifications you possess and the dates they were issued.


Your resume education section will help the recruiting managers determine if your skills are a match for their organization. For this section, indicate the degrees you have obtained starting from the highest qualification, the name, and location of your college and year of graduation.
